Misc: Facts and speculations, based upon belief that letter [W] was written in July, 1845: First spouse was Wilson Carter, he died 1834 in Augusta, GA. He had four children, two boys and two girls. The sons were Jeremiah (children Jesse b. 1841 and Nancy b. 1843) and then Jesse Carter (b. 1821.0209, children Stephen, Sarah Elizabeth, William James, and a son not yet named in July 1845). The daughters were Aryarin (m. Charles ?ooks 1836.0829, two children Sarah Jane and Rachael) and Sarah Ann (m. David Hooks 1838.0101, two children Ann and Catherine Narcissa). Second spouse was Mr. Autrey, alive 1845. She had three sons by him, but only one, John Jefferson, b. 1834.0908, was alive in 1845. Intriguing idea: Are these two Jesse Carters from AL related to Edward McCager Carter (#014) of AL, who had a son Nathan Jesse Carter (#017), b. 1863??
