Michigan Lemon Law

This law, as amended, covers those who purchase and lease motor vehicles for personal use. It covers both major defects (engine, transmission, steering) and "minor" defects (water leak, peeling paint).

Like the lemon laws of some other states, Michigan's law generally may be invoked if the vehicle has been in for repairs 4 times in 2 years, or if it has been out of service a total of 30 days during the first year.
